DRILLING EXPLORATION DISTRIBUTION
Exploration is consistently characterized by high efficiency due to the use of advanced exploration methods, the selection of the most promising areas, taking into account the results of scientific research. We are currently studying four licenses issued by the Russian Ministry of energy and oil. Our 2017-2019 Caspian and Baltic sea studies will help clarify future opportunities in the Caspian and Baltic.
MAJOR SEARCH PROJECTS IN 2017
CASPIAN SEA: Continued exploration of the Caspian sea is one of the Company's priorities, given the potential synergies with large deposits previously discovered in the region.
In 2017, the construction of the Khazri prospecting and appraisal well No. 1 with a depth of 4,780 m within the southern part of the Central Caspian section was completed. 3D field seismic surveys in the volume of 678 sq.km were carried out on the structures Khazri and Titonskaya in order to clarify the geological structure and identify promising objects. Based on the results of 3D seismic interpretation, the resource base will be evaluated and the location for drilling an exploration well on the Khazri structure will be determined.
The company has a unique experience in the Baltic sea, which allows to minimize risks in the development of new fields and reduce the time of implementation of new projects.
The proximity to export markets and the availability of its own transport infrastructure reduces transport costs and increases the economic efficiency of operations in the region.
The main volumes of exploration drilling abroad are concentrated on Block 10 in Iraq (OIL-60%, operator; INPEX CORPORATION-40%).
